This is a website that tells the story of the Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. This gives a history background of the chapter and when they were formed and the founging members of that chapter. Each Chapter has their own version of the story and how their chapter came about. This website gives a biography of Ethel Hedgmen Lyle it says the same thing that the others say it is just from a different chapter.

This website tells me bout her child hood and where she lived while she was married and out of college. She resided to Philadelphia where their only child was born George Jr. She continued to work as an English teacher at a school.

First Annotation

This website gives information on "The Divine Nine" and the sophmores that were inducted into the AKA. This website shows biographies of the woman who lead the founding of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. It tells me what she achieved and how she came up with the idea to think of a sisterhood where you didnt have to be related by blood by heart and spirit. These woman were females she knew and the females that her friends knew. This website also talks about how she had health problems and when she had to take sometime out of school because of her health.

Topic Selection
It's about that time again everybody. NHD is here and in this paragraph I will tell you the person I am doing research on and what she is most famous for and how I am going to present my project to the judges. This year I am doing a exhibit board about Ethel Hedgeman Lyle. She is the female that came up with the idea to have a Sorority for African American females. She started a sorority named Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She says her husband had nothing to do with this idea but people believe he did. She started this with The divine nine that is what they were called till they wanted the sorority to last forever so they inducted sophmores so the legacy of the sorority would be saved. This was the first sorority to be Incoporated.
